About Rogersville Baptist Temple

Who We Are

Rogersville Baptist Temple, Rogersville's definite voice of truth, was organized in 1976 as the town’s only independent Baptist church. We are independent, fundamental, missionary‑supporting, King James Bible‑believing and Bible‑preaching. Our purpose is to see people come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and to help believers grow through Bible teaching and preaching. We welcome you to attend our services and experience the joy of salvation and fellowship.

Our motto is “A Church Alive Is Worth The Drive,” and it reflects our desire to serve God and our community wholeheartedly. We provide a community van ministry to assist those without transportation and have handicap‑accessible facilities for the physically challenged.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible is the perfect, completed Word of God; that God exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, born of a virgin, crucified and risen again; that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone; and that believers should live holy lives as testimony to a lost world. For a detailed statement, see our full Statement of Faith.

Our Pastor

Pastor Barry Rackley

Pastor Barry Rackley was born on January 1, 1961 and born again on January 20, 1981 during an old‑fashioned revival. He surrendered to preach on February 2, 1981 and delivered his first sermon six days later. He graduated from Tabernacle Baptist Bible College in 1985 and has pastored Rogersville Baptist Temple since 1992. Pastor Rackley and his wife Elisha were married in 1986 and have faithfully served the Lord together. He is known for his strong stand on the King James Bible and his commitment to proclaiming Jesus Christ as the only hope of salvation.
